DANIEL BOWDEN, DIRECTOR

Daniel has worked in both local government and private practice for more than 15 years.

Prior to joining Song Bowden, Daniel successfully operated his own private practice that commenced in 2002. Prior to this, Daniel worked at the City of Whitehorse and City of Maribyrnong providing him with an understanding of the workings of Local Government.

Daniel has undertaken a number of his own development projects, providing him with valuable experience in understanding the planning system, in particular regard to the commercial realities of property development.  Daniel regularly appears as a planning advocate at VCAT and panel hearings for a diverse range of clients.  His work includes project coordination, site assessment advice, and the negotiation and resolution of disputes.

DAVID SONG, DIRECTOR

David is one of the partners at Song Bowden Planning and brings a depth of experience to the firm.

His sound judgement and ability to synthesise complex planning issues has given him recognition in the planning and development industry.

David has a diverse client base and is regularly engaged to provide advice on a variety of planning related matters. His past experience in local government offers depth to his skills in private practice.  David’s skills in analysing complex planning issues and communicating clearly often sees him participating as a planning advocate or expert witness at VCAT and Planning Panels Victoria.

David takes pride in his work and seeks to assist all those in need.  He aims to provide fair, upfront and considered advice.

TASMAN JONES, SENIOR PLANNER

With an extensive background in the public sector, Tasman is able to draw on his knowledge and understanding of Local Government processes.

Being able to manage a broad range of application types, Tasman has valuable experience within the Victorian planning system to co-ordinate planning approvals on a diverse range of projects. Tasman is a key asset in facilitating favourable development outcomes, whether through planning applications to Council or as advocate in VCAT, is committed to achieving positive results.

TOM BUCHAN, SENIOR PLANNER

With a broad range of planning experience across both the private and public sector, Tom provides expert planning advice and representation for our clients.

Tom specialises in statutory planning, and has developed an extensive understanding of legislation and policy within the Victorian Planning System.

Tom successfully manages applications as an advocate representing both permit applicants and resident objectors. He also has undertaken work on behalf of Municipal Councils across Victoria, and has made appearances at VCAT both on behalf of clients and as a Council officer.

CALLUM BRYANT, SENIOR PLANNER

Having worked in both public and private practice, Callum provides valuable insight into the statutory planning process and is able to facilitate favourable outcomes in both local government and VCAT settings.

Callum seeks to provide a high-quality experience for his clients and is committed to achieving positive results, whether it be for private clients or authorities.

CHELSEA McFARLANE, OFFICE MANAGER

Chelsea joined SongBowden Planning as an Office Administrator in 2023, bringing with her over 7 years of experience in administration and reception roles. Her primary goal is to ensure the efficient functioning of our office, allowing our team to focus on delivering quality service to our clients.

With a proactive approach, Chelsea diligently manages the day-to-day operations, ensuring a seamless functioning of our office. Her commitment to detail and reliable support play a crucial role in maintaining the office’s workflow so that our team can dedicate their energy to meeting and exceeding the needs of our clients.
